Travel trailer design has come a long way in recent years, but it still leaves something to be desired.

That’s not the case for Kworks’s new Mio Space model, though. The trailer is one of the best-looking recreational vehicles we’ve seen but is also versatile enough to be used any way you see fit.

The Mio Space is the result of a collaboration between Japanese caravan maker and housing equipment company Lixil. The duo specifically designed and engineered the vehicle to adapt to a variety of different lifestyles, according to a joint press release. The pair’s goal was to create a trailer that could be used every day of the year, regardless of where your travels take you.

All it takes is one glance to see that the Mio Space is different. Except for retro-styled models from Airstream and Bowlus, most trailers tend to be clunky monstrosities that could have been built at any point over the past several decades. Kworks’s vehicle, though, features a clean and minimalist look that stands out. The bottom half of the trailer is lined with wood panels while the top is painted meta, broken up only by its door and two panoramic windows.

The trailer looks just as good inside. The “variable” interior was designed to be as versatile as possible, and except for a kitchenette tucked into the front has no built-in appliances or fixtures. The entire space is lined with wooden slats, which look good but also offer a versatile foundation for anything you may want to install, be it seating, a bed, or storage. The Mio Space isn’t just meant for camping, either, and this clean layout allows it to be used as anything from a deck extension, office space, or mobile storefront, just to name a few.

There’s one downside to the Mio Space right now and that is that it’s currently unclear if it will be available outside Japan. Kwork plans to open pre-orders for the RV, which does not have a price yet, next summer, but it seems like they will only be taken domestically. Here’s hoping that changes if there proves to be enough demand.
